Although Ireland has much love for City and the players have much more love for him, I think Barry is the ideal captain. Probably more experienced.

I thought about Barry as he was a good captain for Villa, but I don't think you can make a newcomer captain.
Ireland knows what it means to play for City and he knows what it means to play for us fans. He showed last season that he can lead by example.
